The Nutter administration today unveiled an executive order instructing all city departments and agencies to come up with a "language access plan" to make it easier for residents with limited English skills to access city services.

The Nutter administration today unveiled an executive order instructing all city departments and agencies to come up with a "language access plan" to make it easier for residents with limited English skills to access city services.

The order specifically mentions "311," the citywide nonemergency call center the Nutter administration has pledged to roll out by the end of the year. The order also says that the city will attempt to recruit more multilingual personnel.

The order was announced at an immigration forum in City Hall.
