Grand juries in Camden County have indicted 13 men on murder charges in connection with 10 deaths.

Grand juries in Camden County have indicted 13 men on murder charges in connection with 10 deaths.

On Sept. 26, indictments were handed down in Superior Court for offenses dating back to 2004, announced a press release from acting Camden County Prosecutor Joshua M. Ottenberg.

Joseph Leptien, 37, of Lindenwold, is accused of killing his mother, Mary Leptien, 63, in 2006 by pummeling her to death with a hammer.

Also named are four men charged with the 2006 kidnapping and killing of Andre A. Norman: Clayton Cox, 23, and Elijah Cox, 25, of Paulsboro; Nehemiah Bowens, 30, of Camden; and Wesley Williams, 30, of Lindenwold.

The oldest murder charge involves Raheem Harrity, 27, of Camden, who is accused of shooting Alejandro Soto, 32, of Edgewater Park, and Alejandro Rios Castro, 18, of Camden in 2004.

The other murder indictments announced were:

Jamal Gibbs, 24, of Camden, accused of shooting Joseph Damon, 24, on Nov. 3, 2006 in East Camden.

Jason Rodriguez, 27, of Camden, and Christopher Figueroa, of Camden, accused of fatally shooting Jesse Hernandez, 20, and Alejandro Martinez, 21, on the night of March 8, 2007.

Christopher Liccketto, 28, of Sea Isle City, accused of killing Marie Iacovelli, 51, of Lindenwold, in a car crash.

Luis Ramos , a.k.a. "Pete-O," 21, accused of fatally shooting David Perez, 20, of Camden, to death at 24th and Federal Streets on Sept. 3, 2006.Efrain Cardona, 35, of the Barclay Tower Apartments in Cherry Hill, charged with killing Robert L. Young, 50, of Maple Shade, while drunk driving May 14, 2007.

No trials have yet been scheduled.
