American Idol is coming to town for auditions on Aug. 27 - the first time ever. The Wachovia Center will be the venue as the Fox series prepares for the seventh season, premiering in January.
Previous Philly-based finalists had to travel to an audition city, such as New York (Justin Guarini), Cleveland (Anthony Fedorov) and Nashville (Nicole Tranquillo).
Philadelphia is the final stop in a series of seven audition cities. First city will be San Diego (July 30), followed by Dallas (Aug. 6), Omaha, Neb. (Aug. 10), Atlanta (Aug. 14), Charleston, S.C. (Aug. 18) and Miami (Aug. 22).
Auditions will be open to men and women ages 16 to 28 who are eligible to work in the United States. Additional information on wristbands and the lineup for the Wachovia Center auditions will be released shortly. Additional rules and regulations are available at www.AmericanIdol.com.
