The Land Title Building at 100 S. Broad St. Wikipedia

Authorities are investigating a report of a suspicious substance at a high-rise building in Center City.

Police said the substance, which has not yet been identified, was found Friday afternoon inside the Land Title building at 100 S. Broad St., near Sansom Street.

It’s not clear exactly where in the building the substance was found, but the property houses several municipal agencies, including the Sheriff’s Office and the Tax Review Board, as well as a U.S. post office.

The area around Broad and Sansom streets was closed to traffic as hazmat teams responded.
