Suspects in assault on gay couple released on bail
The three suspects charged in an assault on a gay couple in Center City have been released on bail.
Court records say 24-year-old Philip Williams, of Warminster; 26-year-old Kevin Harrigan, of Warrington; and 24-year-old Kathryn Knott, of Southampton were arraigned overnight.
Williams and Harrigan were each released from custody after posting 10 percent of $75,000 bail, according to court records.
Knott was freed after posting 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
The three turned themselves in to police on Wednesday to face charges in the Sept. 11 incident.
The three are accused of savagely beating a gay couple near Rittenhouse Square that evening and using anti-gay slurs. They are facing charges that include aggravated assault, conspiracy, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Status hearings in the case have been scheduled for Tuesday.
