Siblings arrested in South Jersey shooting, carjacking

A brother and sister have been arrested in an April shooting, robbery, and attempted carjacking, Gloucester County prosecutors said Saturday.

Donnell Scruggs, 36, and Renae Scruggs, 34, are being held without bail on charges of attempted murder, robbery, carjacking, and related charges.

They are charged in connection with the shooting of a 39-year-old Paulsboro man on April 22. The man was found by police in a convenience store parking lot, having been shot once in the chest. He was robbed of cash, cellphones, and a watch.

Renae Scruggs, of Paulsboro, was arrested Jan. 10. Donnell Scruggs was arrested in Glassboro on Wednesday, police said.

Another man, Ryan K. Williams of Paulsboro, was arrested in the same incident in May.
