Shakespearean-proportion brawl at TGI Fridays

A quarrel between ex-lovers became a Shakespearean-style family brawl at a TGI Fridays in South Jersey, according to police.

And, yes, one of the families bore the name Montague.

Egg Harbor Township Police were called to the chain restaurant at the Harbor Square shopping center off the Black Horse Pike about 8:10 p.m. Monday in response to a large fight.

The victim, Tyree Montague, 32, of Atlantic City, told police that his family had been celebrating a birthday at the restaurant when the fight erupted.

Police say Montague told them he had been in a prior relationship with Cammy Farmer, 35, of Hamilton Township. Farmer, police say, moved her table from one area of the restaurant to an area close to Montague.

Subsequently, Farmer got into an argument with the Montague family, police said. The argument grew heated and erupted into a fight.

The fight spilled outside from the restaurant. Police say Farmer assaulted Montague during the brawl.

"Numerous" police units were called from Egg Harbor and Northfield. Farmer was arrested after an alleged struggle with police.

She was charged with simple assault, violation of a temporary restraining order, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Farmer posted 10 percent of $5,000 bail and was released pending a court appearance.

Farmer then signed a complaint for simple assault against Montague. A court summons was issued on that charge.
