School District congratulates Inquirer

The leadership of the Philadelphia School District Monday afternoon emailed a note of congratulations to Inquirer journalists who won the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on school violence.

The email read:

"The members of the School Reform Commission and the leadership of the School District want to congratulate you and your colleagues on winning the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. It is a well-deserved, prestigious prize that highlighted an issue that is so important to all of us. We are diligently working on new programs to increase safety in District schools, ensuring that every school in the district is a safe, high-performing school. Your unwavering commitment has made a difference in our schools.

"Congratulations!"
