Scattered power outages across Philadelphia region

Scattered power outages are being reported across the Philadelphia region this morning, as strong wind gusts sweep through the area.

Around 11:30 a.m., utility companies were reporting that roughly 2,000 customers in the region lacked power.

PECO was reporting more than 1,700 outages in the Philadelphia region. About 200 Atlantic City Electric customers in the area lacked powers and a few dozen outages were reported in PSE&G's service area.

Outage totals in most places have decreased throughout the morning. As of late morning, Chester County appeared to be the hardest hit, with about 680 homes and businesses without power.

A wind advisory was in place for the region this morning, and forecasters warned that the wind gusts would likely knock down trees and power lines.

Overnight, gusts of more than 50 mph were reported in multiple places in the region, according to the weather service.
