Police pull body from river in Tacony

Police are trying to identify a body that was pulled from the Delaware River Saturday morning in the Tacony section of Northeast Philadelphia.

Police are trying to identify a body that was pulled from the Delaware River Saturday morning in the Tacony section of Northeast Philadelphia.

The discovery was made around 10:20 a.m. near the Philadelphia side of the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, according to investigators.

The police Marine Unit retrieved the body, described only as that of a black male between the ages of 30 and 40. The man was pronounced dead on the scene shortly before 11 a.m., police said.

Police said the man has not been identified and is currently being treated as a John Doe.
