NBC10 Weather: Don't be fooled, hope you left early

If you were looking for an ideal time to head home, your window might have ended at 6 p.m.

After 6 p.m., rain will start to fall, on the light side with a few moderate pockets. The heavier rain will fall in Delaware and in the western suburbs, eventually making its way up to the Lehigh Valley.

There may be another lull about 8 p.m. before the real heavy rain returns. Several waves of heavy rain will make their way through the area from southwest to northeast. The first of the heavy rounds should make it through Philly between 8:30 and 9 p.m.

Rain will decrease and increase in intensity throughout the night, with the rain finally clearing out by the morning commute. When it's all said and done, expect a widespread 1 to 2 inches with some wetter spots. The Shore looks to miss out on much of the heavy rain, but it will still get up to an inch. The roads will still be slick in the morning but the rain should finish falling before 7 a.m.
