Cops: Victim revises report, was shot in N. Philly

A man was shot Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a Dunkin' Donuts in North Philadelphia.

A man was shot Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a Dunkin' Donuts in North Philadelphia.

The 44-year-old victim was shot once in the left thigh shortly before 4 p.m. and drove himself to Aria Health-Torresdale, where he was placed in stable condition.

Though the victim originally told police he was shot during a robbery attempt at a drive-up ATM kiosk near the Franklin Mills Mall in Northeast Philadelphia, he later recanted that version of events, investigators said.

In an update sent to members of the media around 6:20 p.m., police said the incident was actually believed to have occurred on the 900 block of West Girard Avenue.

Police said Saturday evening that no arrests had yet been made in connection with the crime.
