Man shot during carjacking in North Philadelphia


A man was shot Wednesday night during a carjacking in North Philadelphia.

Officers found the 26-year-old victim shortly before 6:15 p.m. inside a corner store near 21st and York streets, according to investigators.

Police said the man was inside his red Dodge Durango when someone shot him twice in the back and sped off in the vehicle.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was placed in critical condition. No arrests were reported. Additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident was not immediately available Wednesday.
