3 slain, boy critical in Philly shootings, stabbing

A man was killed and a 15-year-old boy was wounded by gunfire Sunday in the Eastwick section of Southwest Philadelphia, one of three deadly attacks in the city in a 14-hour period.

According to police, the 19-year-old man and the boy were in a vehicle on the 8100 block of Lyons Avenue when they were shot around 2:25 p.m.

The 15-year-old was hit once in the left side of his face and was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was listed in critical condition.

The man, identified Monday as Sybrii Davis of Eastwick, was shot twice under his left arm. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:59 p.m., police said. Relatives identified the wounded teen as the homicide victim's younger brother.

Police said someone in a black vehicle pulled up alongside the victims' Hyundai Sonata and fired several times into the car.

The motive for the shooting remained unknown Monday.

Authorities on Monday were also continuing to search for the killers in two other Sunday slayings in Philadelphia.

Ramon Anthony Smith, 46, died after he was shot in his head in his home on the 4800 block of North Bouvier Street in the city's Logan section.

When police arrived at the residence shortly after 9:15 a.m. Sunday, they found Smith on the kitchen floor. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 9:24 a.m.

The home appeared to have been ransacked and several televisions were missing, police said.

In another killing, a 46-year-old man was found suffering from stab wounds on the 4800 block of Gransback Street in Feltonville just before 1 a.m.

The victim, whose name was not released because his family was still being notified, was taken to Einstein Medical Center, where he died at 9:55 a.m.

Police listed an argument as the motive for the killing. No details on any suspects were available.
