Five shot, one killed in North Philly


Five people were shot at a North Philadelphia intersection shortly before 6 p.m. tonight and one of the wounded died at a nearby hospital.

Police said a 20-year-old woman was shot twice in the chest and pronounced dead at Episcopal Hospital after she was driven from the shooting at East Somerset and North Lee streets in the Fairhill section in a private vehicle.

None of the people shot were immediately identified.

The four others wounded were also at city hospital and in stable condition, police said.
