Entire ATM yanked from base, stolen in West Philadelphia
Thieves ripped an ATM machine inside a West Philadelphia gas station from its base and made off with the entire unit early this morning.
The theft occurred about 4:45 a.m. at the BP station at Chestnut Street and Cobbs Creek Parkway near the city border.
Police on scene this morning said the ATM was located near the doorway inside the store and did not appear to have been secured to the ground when it was pulled from the base during a heavy rain.
The suspects are described as two men in dark clothing in a white vehicle.
Check back for details as they develop.
