Cryptic pot bust by Philadelphia police nets 467 pounds

Narcotics officers broke up a big marijuana operation that uncovered more than $2.1 million in the illegal drug, Philadelphia police said Tuesday.

But in unusually vague fashion, details of the bust were limited to the amount of pot seized by narcotics investigators — 467 pounds — and its street value: $2,122,450. The rest of the story behind the seizure will remain confidential until the investigation is complete, the Philadelphia Police Department said in a statement.

"Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, names, locations, and method of operation will not be disclosed at this time due to officer safety," the PPD said in a statement released this afternoon. "The investigation is on-going with future arrests and seizures to be expected."

In other words, stay tuned.
