Cops seek armed robber seen "stalking" victims in South Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are looking for the assailant seen on surveillance video "stalking" two women before robbing them at gunpoint in South Philadelphia.

Police this morning released surveillance footage of the man following the two women, ages 25 and 30, as they walked on the 1000 block of Oregon Avenue at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 12.

Near Marvine Street, the man forced the pair into an alley, pointed a handgun at them and demanded property from them.

One woman reached into her pocket and threw cash on the ground. The women then ran away unharmed, police said.

The suspect was seen fleeing west on Oregon Avenue; surveillance footage also showed him inside the Oregon Avenue SEPTA station.

The robber was described as white, 25 to 30 years old and 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He had a thin build, was clean-shaven and was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-8477 (TIPS) or send a text message to 773847 (PPDTIP).
