Yet another bitter blast will arrive this afternoon as temperatures will begin to tumble from early afternoon highs in the 30s, then falling back through the 20s after 2 p.m. and then bottom out in the single digits by Tuesday morning.
A few flurries could accompany the arctic front today, but the main impact will be increasing wind and wind chill factors dropping to 10 below by Tuesday morning.
Tuesday itself will be bitter cold with temperatures struggling to crack 20 degrees, but at least we will have some sunshine. (That helps our biological mood somewhat.)
Wednesday, I will be watching a storm moving off the Southeast coast, though latest computer models keep the main impact (snow) off the coast. It could come close enough, however, to produce accumulating snow as close by as southern Delaware and possibly extreme southeast Cape May County in New Jersey.
I will be watching it closely as any deviation to the west would increase the snow threat for Philly, but as of now it looks too far off the coast. I have some trepidation but not a high level at this time.
Thursday will be dry and cold as temperatures remain below the freezing mark.
Wing Bowl Friday and Howard Stern's birthday bash look to be dry and not as cold as we can actually see temperatures rise above freezing.
Super Bowl Weekend
A weak storm system could bring some snow to rain showers on Saturday that could linger into Super Bowl morning, but I still expect the game to be played dry with a kickoff temperature between 35 and 40.
A storm will arrive first thing on Monday after the Super Bowl but as of now I'm leaning toward rain.
Timing is everything next weekend and for now we could sneak in a DRY Super Bowl.
I will update through the week or any changes that may or may not take place.
Keep in mind: ONLY 117 days until your Memorial Day getaway...hmmm. But who's counting?
