2 teens shot near Bella Vista playground

Philadelphia police are investigating after two teenagers were shot near a playground in the city's Bella Vista section.

Police said the two male 18-year-olds were shot on the 700 block of South 10th Street, near Bainbridge, shortly before 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The gunfire hit one teen in his left knee; the other was struck in his ankle.

Both were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

Police said this morning that no arrest had been made, and no description of the shooter was available.

The motive for the shooting wasn't known.
