A fight outside an Olney nightclub early Sunday morning resulted in a double shooting that left one person dead, according to police.

The brawl began outside Candelas Bar and Restaurant on the 700 block of Adams Avenue shortly before 4 a.m., police said. Candelas bills itself as a nightclub on its Facebook page. A costume contest was to be held at the club Saturday night, according to the page.

Police were called to the area for reports of a person with a gun at 4:01 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found two 25-year-old men with gunshot wounds.

The first man, who was shot in the chest, was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center's Elkins Park campus, where he was pronounced dead at 4:28 a.m., according to police. Police on Monday identified him as Nathaniel Rodriguez, of the city's Kensington section.

The second man, who was shot in his abdomen, was taken to Einstein's main campus, where he remains in critical condition.

A third man was taken to Temple University Hospital by a private vehicle for injuries he suffered when he was assaulted during the fight at the same scene, police said. That man was listed in stable condition.

Police said they continue to search for a suspect and a motive. No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
