W. Philly toddler dies after running between parked cars

A child died after being hit by a car Sunday in West Philadelphia, police said. The 23-month-old boy ran between two parked vehicles and was hit by a westbound white Chevrolet Trailblazer about 6:45 p.m. on the 4800 block of Merion Avenue, police said.

The 23-month-old boy ran between two parked vehicles and was hit by a westbound white Chevrolet Trailblazer about 6:45 p.m. on the 4800 block of Merion Avenue, police said.

The child, identified Monday as Ameen Rorie, of the 700 block of North 65th Street, was pronounced dead at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at 7:13 p.m.

The driver, a 30-year-old woman, remained at the scene. The investigation remained ongoing Monday.
