Man killed in Brewerytown double shooting

A 25-year-old man was killed in a double shooting Saturday night in Philadelphia's Brewerytown section that left a 45-year-old man seriously wounded, police said.

A 25-year-old man was killed in a double shooting Saturday night in Philadelphia's Brewerytown section that left a 45-year-old man seriously wounded, police said.

The shooting occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on the 1700 block of North Newkirk Street.

Both men, whose identities were not released, were shot in the chest. The deceased was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 10:15. The other victim was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where his condition was not immediately known.

No arrests had been made and no weapon was recovered, according to a preliminary police report.
