Police ask for help solving armed robbery at Market-Frankford Line's Girard Station

Police were asking for the public's help in identifying a man who committed an armed robbery at the Girard Station on the Market-Frankford line Friday evening.

The robbery occurred about 6:15 p.m. on the westbound platform, police said. The suspect approached a woman and pointed a pistol with an extended magazine at her, He demanded her purse and then fled the station.
