A firefighter was injured battling an overnight fire in South Philadelphia.

The two-alarm blaze was reported shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday on the 1300 block of South Broad Street and took crews nearly two hours to control, the Fire Department said.

One firefighter was hospitalized after fighting the flames at the three-story rowhome, the department said.

The firefighter was in stable condition and expected to be OK, Capt. William Dixon said.

No one else was injured and the blaze didn't spread to any other buildings.

The fire was declared under control at 2:59 a.m.

The cause remains under investigation.
