Police are investigating the Independence Day shooting death of a man who was found slain in a car in Chester.

Police are investigating the Independence Day shooting death of a man who was found slain in a car in Chester.

Police said the 31-year-old Chester man was found unresponsive in the driver seat of a white, older-model Crown Victoria near 3rd and Kerlin Streets shortly before 7 p.m. Monday.

The man, who had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and body, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No information about any suspects or motive was available.

The man's name wasn't released Tuesday because his relatives were still being notified.
