Man shoots gun into women's shelter in Logan

About 2:30 p.m. Thursday, police said, a man followed a 36-year-old woman around the Rite Aid, at 1334 Windrim Ave. in Logan, after first trying to talk to her outside the store and getting rebuffed.

After the woman finished shopping and walked back to a women's shelter a few blocks away, the man followed her, police said.

The woman went inside the shelter. The man stayed outside, but ended up pulling out a handgun from a pants pocket. He then fired three shots into the shelter's glass door and window, before running away. No one was injured.

Police are seeking the public's help identifying the shooter.

He was described as black, about 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and clean shaven. He was wearing a black Nike baseball cap, a gray Nike T-shirt, dark-colored pants and had a dark-colored backpack.
