Philadelphia woman shot with crossbow; boyfriend in custody

A 42-year-old woman was shot in the chest with a crossbow and killed Sunday night by her boyfriend in the city's Torresdale section, police said.

A 42-year-old woman was shot in the chest with a crossbow and killed Sunday night by her boyfriend in the city's Torresdale section, police said.

The woman was taken to Aria Health Torresdale hospital in critical condition after being shot around 9:20 p.m. inside a building on the 3100 block of Willits Road. She was pronounced dead around 10:30 p.m.

Police said they had her 40-year-old boyfriend in custody.

No further details were available Sunday.
