Philadelphia police have identified a man who was fatally shot while walking with his girlfriend in the city's Frankford section on Tuesday morning.

Philadelphia police have identified a man who was fatally shot while walking with his girlfriend in the city's Frankford section on Tuesday morning.

Police on Wednesday said 27-year-old Andre Moore and his girlfriend were walking on the 5200 block of Torresdale Avenue shortly before 11:45 a.m. when someone shot at the young man.

Moore ran south on Torresdale Avenue as the gunman chased him and continued firing, police said. He ultimately ran to the 2100 block of Granite Street, where he collapsed on a porch, and the shooter fled west on Bridge Street.

Medics took Moore, who was shot in his chest and legs, to Aria Health's Torresdale campus, where he was pronounced dead at 12:51 p.m.

Authorities described the suspect as a black man who was 5 feet 7 inches tall, thin, and wearing black clothing and a black and white bandana across his face.

The motive for the killing remained unknown Wednesday.
