Philadelphia Powerball ticket wins $250K

A Powerball ticket sold in West Philadelphia is worth $250,000 after the game's most recent drawing.

A Powerball ticket sold in West Philadelphia is worth $250,000 after the game's most recent drawing.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls (23, 30, 33, 40 and 69) drawn Wednesday, as well as the Powerball of 12, Pennsylvania Lottery officials said.

The ticket was purchased with the power play option, which boosted its value to $250,000 instead of the normal $50,000. Two New Jersey tickets, sold in Bergen and Essex Counties, won $50,000 each by matching four white balls and the Powerball, but without the power play.

The winning Philadelphia ticket was sold at Goodman's TV Service, located at 519 S. 52nd St., officials said.

The retailer gets a $500 bonus. The ticket holder has one year from the drawing date to claim the prize.

No one won the $100 million jackpot, so the top prize rises to $110 million for the annuity, or $72.1 million cash, for Saturday's drawing.

The jackpot for Mega Millions, another major multistate lottery game, has also been on the rise in recent weeks. The top prize for the game's Friday drawing now stands at $251 million, or $162 million cash.
