Phila. policeman walks in on burglary of his Mayfair home

Two males were in custody after an off-duty police officer walked in on a burglary at his home Tuesday afternoon in the city's Mayfair section, police said.

The officer fired his personal weapon but no one was shot after he discovered the burglary just after 1:10 p.m. in the 3300 block of Wellington Street, police said. A third male fled and remained at large, police said.

No other details, including the names and ages of the two arrested, were immediately available. - Robert Moran
