A man was shot to death in Germantown overnight, and two people of interest were being questioned in the killing.

The slaying happened just after 2:15 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a former supermarket near West Chelten and Wayne Avenues.

The 25-year-old victim, who was shot in his chest and suffered graze wounds to his head, was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center at 2:50 a.m., police said.

Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that officers who heard the gunshots and responded to the scene found two other people at the site. Witnesses identified the pair as having been involved in the altercation, he said, and one was suspected of having been the shooter.

The two were taken to homicide unit for questioning. Further information about those people or the slain man wasn't immediately available.
