Police are investigating a shooting early Wednesday at an Overbrook home that left a 19-year-old man critically wounded.

Authorities responded to the victim's home on the 5600 block of Lebanon Avenue about 12:15 a.m., where they found him shot in his chest and abdomen.

Police said the alleged gunman and victim were arguing when the assailant pulled out his gun, firing three times at the victim, who tried to run back into his house. The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.

Shortly after the shooting, authorities believe, a fire was also set on the victim's porch.

Lt. John Walker, of Southwest Detectives, said authorities cannot say at this point if the gunman set the fire.

Walker said the fire was lit by the tossing of a glass container with an accelerant inside. There were "no witnesses" to the fire, he said.

Walker said police have identified a person of interest in the shooting, but are still searching for the man, whose name was not released.
