1 dead, 1 injured in Point Breeze shooting

One man was killed and another wounded in a double shooting Friday afternoon in the city's Point Breeze section, police said.

Just after 4:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of Wharton Street, a 25-year-old man was shot in the left side of his chest. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:09 p.m.

Another 25-year-old man was shot in the right finger. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.

A gun was recovered from the scene. Police reported that arrests were made.
