Police on Saturday released more information about a fatal shooting Friday night in Southwest Philadelphia.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Korman apartment complex, at 8400 Lindbergh Blvd., shortly before 9:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

The fiancee of the slain man told police that she and the victim had just returned home to the apartment complex and had parked their vehicle in the parking lot when they saw a man they did not know sitting on the steps of the rental office.

The stranger then walked behind their vehicle.

The woman said her fiance got out of their vehicle to throw out some trash, and the other man started firing at him.

She said that she did not hear any exchange of words or any dispute between her fiance and the gunman, and that the gunman did not try to rob them.

The shooter was described as black, very tall, skinny, and wearing gray sweatpants, a dark baseball cap, and a black bandanna covering his face.

He fled on foot through a walkway.

The victim's identity was not released, pending notification of his family.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrest has been made.
