Teen hit by police car in Spring Garden in stable condition

A 13-year-old boy suffered a non-life-threatening injury when he was struck by a police vehicle Friday afternoon in the city's Spring Garden section, police said.

A 13-year-old boy suffered a non-life-threatening injury when he was struck by a police vehicle Friday afternoon in the city's Spring Garden section, police said.

The accident occurred about 5:15 p.m. on Broad Street and Fairmount Avenue. The police officer was responding to a call to assist another officer when his vehicle hit the teen.

The victim was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The officer was not hurt.
