Man shot in Summerdale robbery

Police are looking for two bandits in an overnight shooting during a robbery in Summerdale that left a man critically wounded, police said Wednesday.

At about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, police arrived on the 1100 block of Rosalie Street and found the 27-year-old victim sitting on steps leading to a second-floor apartment inside a residential property. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back.

The victim told police he was going to a store on Summerdale Avenue when two men robbed him of his cell phone, then shot him. He said he then ran to a friend's house on Rosalie Street and called 911.

Police took the man to Einstein Medical Center, where he underwent immediate surgery.
