Chesco, Bucks tickets hit lotto jackpots

Two tickets sold in the same Chester County town won big prizes in recent lottery games, while a Bucks County ticket hit the jackpot in another drawing.

Two tickets sold in the same Chester County town won big prizes in recent lottery games, while a Bucks County ticket hit the jackpot in another drawing.

The series of lucky drawings for Southeastern Pennsylvania lottery players started Thursday, when a ticket sold at a Downingtown grocery store split a $325,000 Pennsylvania Cash 5 jackpot.

The ticket, purchased at the Wegmans at 1056 E. Lancaster Ave., matched all five numbers drawn: 3, 13, 28, 38 and 42.

A ticket sold in Allegheny County also matched the five numbers, Pennsylvania lottery officials said. Each ticket holder gets $162,500, and the retailers each get a $500 bonus.

Another Downingtown ticket won a big prize in Saturday's Powerball drawing by matching four of the five white balls (4, 13, 31, 36 and 52) plus the Powerball of 8. It was purchased with the power play option, boosting its value to $150,000, instead of $50,000.

That ticket was bought at the Turkey Hill at 132 W. Lancaster Ave., lottery officials said. The retailer gets a $500 bonus.

No tickets hit the Powerball jackpot, so the top prize for Wednesday's drawing rolls over to $157 million for the annuity, or $101.7 million cash.

Also Saturday, a ticket sold in Morrisville is worth $225,000 after matching all five numbers in the Pennsylvania Cash 5 game: 2, 17, 22, 24 and 28.

The winner was sold at United Cut Rate Store, located at 19 E. Bridge St. The store gets $500 for selling the lucky ticket.

All of the winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes.
