A 60-year-old Main Line man has been charged with sexually abusing a family member, Radnor Township police said Wednesday.

The counts against Charles Robinson of the unit block of Gable Road, Paoli, included corruption of minors, indecent assault of a person under 16, indecent exposure, and endangering the welfare of a child. Robinson posted $10,000 bail, and a hearing is set for Thursday.

He was arrested on New Year's Eve, his 60th birthday, as police feared he would flee the area. Robinson has a second home in Connecticut, Police Superintendent William Colarulo said.

James Munnelly, Robinson's attorney, did not return calls for comment.

The incidents occurred in Radnor, where Robinson previously lived, Colarulo said.

The abuse began when the victim was about 13 and continued for three to four years, he said.

Colarulo said Robinson was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and an adoption services group with the Church of the Savior in Wayne, and was a coach with numerous youth sports groups.

Colarulo asked anyone with information about sexual abuse involving Robinson to contact police.

Robinson has resigned his job at Vanguard Group, where he worked in information technology, officials said.
