Coatesville celebrations set for Saturday

COATESVILLE Coatesville will continue to mark its centennial Saturday with Heritage Day, one of the closing events in a series of celebrations over the last six months.

COATESVILLE Coatesville will continue to mark its centennial Saturday with Heritage Day, one of the closing events in a series of celebrations over the last six months.

Officials in and around Chester County's only city have planned a day of historic tours, music, and food from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In the Lukens National Historic District, there are to be tours of the grounds where the nation's first female industrialist, Rebecca Lukens, and her family lived and worked.

The Lukens Executive Office Building is to offer maps and a list of events. Residents and visitors also will be able to tour 11 historic churches.

Ash Park is to host activities for children. At Gateway Park, antique personal cars are to be on display. For more information, contact the Brandywine Health Foundation at 610-380-9080.
