Region's roads, transit (almost) back to normal Monday

SEPTA planned to have all stations open Monday, with Regional Rail on weekend schedules and subways on weekday schedules. Some bus detours might persist. PATCO planned four cars per train rather than the usual six. The Benjamin Franklin Bridge was set to reopen at 4 a.m. Monday.

Westbound I-76 opened Sunday night from the Walt Whitman Bridge and 26th Street. Other ramps will open when deemed safe. As for eastbound lanes, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation was coordinating with New Jersey DOT on when to open them and, in New Jersey, the Admiral Wilson Boulevard and part of I-676. The goal: Sometime Monday morning.

The city urged air travelers to get to Philadelphia International Airport three hours early for international flights, two hours for domestic departures.

Mayor Nutter said the city's "security box" was mostly dissolved by Sunday night. - Jason Laughlin
