A city police mountain bike was stolen Thursday morning near the Girard Avenue stop of the Market-Frankford El, police said.

A 26th District officer parked the bike outside a 7-Eleven on Girard shortly before 9 a.m. to sign a log inside the store when the Fuji Mountain Bike was stolen, police said.

Surveillance video showed a white or Hispanic man about 30 years old got on the bike and rode it through a parking lot and north on Leopard Street. The man was wearing a red T-shirt with white writing, khaki shorts, and black shoes. He was carrying a black backpack. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the bike can call East Detectives at 215-686-3243 or dial 911.
