DELAWARE COUNTY

Residents can register for chance to get shade tree

RADNOR In an effort to make Radnor's streets greener and more tree-lined, the township is offering residents the chance to have a tree professionally installed on their property at minimal cost.

The beautification boost comes amid a partnership between Radnor Township, the Radnor Conservancy and the Chanticleer Foundation. Residents who opt into the program will receive a shade tree, such as an oak or a maple tree, planted along the street in front of their property.

Trees will be approximately eight to twelve feet in height with an estimated value of $300 to $450 once installed, according to the township.

Homeowners are to pay $35 toward the cost. A contracted nursery or landscaping company will plant the tree.

All trees will be planted in areas free of overhead wires, according to the township.

The deadline to register is Oct. 18. Register online at www.radnor.com.
