Chesco boy, 6, dies in farm accident

A 6-year-old Amish boy died after he got pinned between two horse-drawn hay carts in Honey Brook on Wednesday, police said Thursday.

A 6-year-old Amish boy died after he got pinned between two horse-drawn hay carts in Honey Brook on Wednesday, police said Thursday.

The boy, whom police did not identify, was between the two carts and became pinned as they passed each other along North Birdell Road on Wednesday around 9 a.m, police said.

He suffered extensive internal injuries, police said.

When state police and emergency medical personnel arrived, the boy was alert and conscious. He was taken to Paoli Hospital, where his heart stopped in the operating room.

The boy was pronounced dead shortly before 1 p.m., the Chester County Coroner's Office said. The coroner's office ruled his death an accident.
