services grant plan

POTTSTOWN Montgomery County residents and organizations can weigh in on the county's human services block grant plan at hearings this week.

Pennsylvania's state human services block grant program provides funding to counties and allows each county to determine how to spend the money.

Montgomery County's plan proposes funding and needs for several departments, including aging and adult services, behavioral health, children and youth, health, and housing and community development.

A hearing is to be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Montgomery County Community College in Pottstown. A second hearing at the Montgomery County Human Services Center in Norristown is set for Thursday from 9:30. to 11 a.m.

The county is to submit its plan to the state by July 10.
