Charles H. Schuster, 84, former Nestlé sales manager

Charles H. Schuster, 84, of Moorestown, a former Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager for Nestlé, the food-production firm, died Thursday, June 4, of heart disease at the Evergreens in Moorestown.

Born in Pennsauken, Mr. Schuster graduated from Moorestown High School and saw combat as a Marine Corps rifleman during the Korean War in the early 1950s.

Mr. Schuster was a salesman for a coffee firm in South Jersey before working for Nestlé from the 1960s into the 1980s. After leaving Nestlé, he retired as a regional sales manager for another food firm.

A member of the Moorestown Relief Engine Company for more than 50 years, he served two terms as the elected fire commissioner for Moorestown Fire District 1.

Mr. Schuster was a deacon for the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown.

He is survived by daughters Phyllis Schuster and Nancy Linder; a son, Karl; and three grandchildren. His wife, Barbara, died in 2001.

A viewing was scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 8, at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St., Moorestown, with a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1010 Bridgeboro Rd., Moorestown. Interment will be in Mount Laurel Cemetery.
