Man dies in Phila. motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist died early Saturday morning after crashing into a disabled taxi on the ramp from the Vine Street Expressway to the Schuylkill Expressway westbound, the Pennsylvania State Police said.

The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, fell from his motorcycle and struck the undercarriage of the taxi at 2:18 a.m., police said. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was declared dead.

The 36-year-old driver and a 41-year-old passenger sitting in the taxi were not hurt.
