AN ARGUMENT outside a Wissahickon pub early yesterday between a man and a woman ended in the death of the woman.

The incident occurred about 1 a.m. yesterday when the two were outside T. Hogan's Pub on Rochelle Avenue near Sumack Street, across from SEPTA's Wissahickon train station.

Police said the tow-truck operator told investigators that his ex-girlfriend started arguing with him and began slapping him. He then got into his truck and started to drive away, police said. The 29-year-old woman grabbed on to the driver's-side light bar of the tow truck, lost her grip and fell underneath the rear wheels of the driver side, police said.

Medics took the woman to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 3 a.m., police said. Police did not provide any additional information about the victim's injuries. Her name had not been released last night, pending notification of family.

The incident is being investigated by the Police Department's Accident Investigation Division. Police did not identify the tow-truck operator. No charges
