Man slain in daylight shooting in SW Philly

A man was shot in the head and killed Thursday morning inside a Southwest Philadelphia laundromat, police said. The gunfire erupted about 11:15 a.m. inside the 53rd Street Laundromat at Springfield Avenue and South 53rd Street in the Kingsessing section, officials said.

A man was shot in the head and killed Thursday morning inside a Southwest Philadelphia laundromat, police said.

The gunfire erupted about 11:15 a.m. inside the 53rd Street Laundromat at Springfield Avenue and South 53rd Street in the Kingsessing section, officials said.

The victim, described as about 25 years old, was shot three times in the back of the head and medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 11:20 a.m., police said.

The investigation is in its earliest stages and police could provide no other information.
