FORMER Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman Bob Kerns pleaded guilty to a sex crime last year. Now his license to practice law has been revoked.

On Friday, the state Supreme Court's disciplinary board temporarily suspended Kerns' law license. According to his attorney, Brian McMonagle, he hasn't been practicing law anyway since his arrest.

"He's disassociated himself from the law firm [Hladik, Onorato & Pearlstine, based in North Wales], and hasn't been practicing since," McMonagle said.

Marcee Sloan, assistant secretary of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, told the Daily News: "This is a temporary suspension, where they take his license until they figure out what the sanction from the disciplinary board will be.

"It can range from private discipline to disbarment. This is until further notice of the court."

In November, Kerns pleaded no contest to indecent assault after a former law clerk accused him of committing the offense following an office party in 2013. He was sentenced to two years' probation and must register as a sex offender for the next 15 years.

Kerns' suspension takes effect March 8.
